Sunday: Church and quality time with the girls who live in the orphanage.
CMCT has started The Bridge Gospel Church. It is a church that is open to everyone (some churches in the area won't allow people with HIV/AIDS, etc.). Philip who is on staff at CMCT, gave a wonderful sermon on God's grace. We were warmly greeted and sang a worship song for the congregation. The church is growing and many are coming to know the Lord. Everyone prays the church will continue to flourish.
That afternoon, we were given the chance to spend quality time with the 120 girls who live in the CMCT orphanage. Their joy for Jesus was infectious and we had a wonderful time making bracelets and singing songs with them. They sweetly call each of us auntie. Although each girl has a small bunk in a room that sleeps 20, their condition here is night and day compared to their previous home life in the slums.
Teri Gundlach helping a group of hostel girls with the craft: making bracelets with beads and crosses.
Marilee Schneider reading stories to the youngest girls.
All of the joyful girls who live in the hostel.
The beautiful girls showing off their finished bracelets.
It was so wonderful to be able to connect with and spend time with these precious children.
