Dear Friends and Family,
Many of you know Don and I support and have a real passion for India and the ministry of Christian Missions Charitable Trust in Chennai, Southeast India. We love CMCT because they take seriously God’s admonition to:
"Seek justice, Encourage the oppressed, Defend the cause of the fatherless,
Plead the case of the widow." Isaiah 1:17
CMCT has 24 different ministries devoted to reaching out to the oppressed, orphans and widows, and poor people who have few opportunities in life. We are so grateful we have been able to go and participate in their ministry a number of times.
I am excited to tell you my friends Teri Gundlach, Anne Storm and I will be leading a trip to Chennai from January 27th to February 3rd , 2010 with a team of 12 women from four different churches, most of whom have never seen India or the ministry of CMCT. We will be paying our own trip expenses, but as a team we would really appreciate your prayers for us as we prepare for the trip and during our time there. We would also love to provide a gift to the ministry from our team and supporters and want to give you the opportunity to contribute if you would like. The medical ministry needs a special machine that analyzes blood to determine whether a patient has HIV/AIDS. CMCT has a dramatically growing ministry to people with the virus and this machine would really help their work. The medical staff provides medicines and treats the various symptoms of the disease, while the HIV/AIDS ministry has regular meeting times with the large group where they provide nutritional food for the families, tell them about God’s love for them, and trains them in skills to make them more sufficient in meeting their own needs. The total cost of this piece of equipment is $6,600. If you would like to contribute please make out a check to LPA (which is Luis Palau Association, a 501(c)3 organization) and send it to me. LPA receives all gifts for CMCT and sends the money on at no cost. We will send all the checks we receive at one time.
